Their Story
Gaudinat-Boivin farms six hectares at Festigny, Leuvrigny and Œuilly, in the Vallée de la Marne between Épernay and Château-Thierry. Albert and Juliette Gaudinat once sold their grapes to the village cooperative; in 1950 their son Maurice and his wife Lucie bottled the first three thousand bottles under the family name. Brothers David and Hervé run the estate today.
Heritage & Terroir
This is Meunier country. The clay and marl of the Marne Valley suit the variety better than anywhere else in Champagne, and Gaudinat-Boivin have built their whole range around it — 75% Meunier in the Tradition Brut, 80% in the Blanc de Noirs.
Philosophy
Terroir first, and a range built on Meunier rather than apologising for it. A perpetual reserve started in 2012 underpins the non-vintage wines, and the zero-dosage Blanc de Noirs shows what the fruit can do entirely unaided.
